Main Street Minute: Glendale accepting police recruit applications

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.

•The City of Glendale is accepting applications for police recruits. Salary ranges from $55,000 to over $77,000. Online applications are being accepted until midnight Sept. 17.

•A local nonprofit aimed at expanding homeless health care services in Maricopa County has gotten a big financial boost. Circle the City received a $500,000 grant from the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation. Bob Parsons is founder of Scottsdale-based web-hosting giant GoDaddy.

Risas Dental and Braces hosts its sixth annual Labor of Love event next week. The Phoenix dental group will provide free services Monday from 8 a.m. until noon at 11 of their locations across the Valley. Patients can choose one of four offerings: a basic teeth cleaning, cavity filling, tooth extraction or an exam plus X-ray.
