PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin emergency repairs on a stretch of State Route 88 that was damaged due to flooding in July on Monday.
Over the next two months, crews will work between Apache Junction and Canyon Lake on mileposts 196 and 220 from Monday to Thursday. The time of the repairs is scheduled between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The project is not scheduled during Labor Day Weekend.
In July, Gov. Doug Ducey declared a state of emergency after 13 miles were damaged by flooding.
Following the repairs to the damaged areas, ADOT has scheduled a safety improvement and pavement preservation project between mileposts 202 and 220 near Apache Junction. That project is anticipated to begin in the Fall and take 12 months to complete.
