I-10 westbound closed in Phoenix for police activity
The Interstate 10 westbound was closed due to a police situation, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The Interstate 10 westbound was closed due to a police situation, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Traffic was backed up as far as Van Buren and also was backed up on the Loop 202 westbound. The Loop 202’s HOV ramp to the I-10 westbound was also closed.
Both Phoenix Mercury and Arizona Diamondbacks fans heading home from the games in downtown Phoenix had to avoid the area and use Interstate 17.
The freeway reopened near midnight on Friday evening/Saturday morning.
