PHOENIX — Money doesn’t buy happiness, although a lot of folks living paycheck to paycheck might disagree.

There are plenty of people in the nation succeeding beyond their wildest dreams who are worth more than just a few million dollars (which is clearly a whole lot). These people detailed by Forbes are worth billions of dollars, including the richest man in America, Bill Gates, who is worth $88.9 billion.

The richest person in all of Arizona, according to Forbes, is Bruce Halle.

As of Saturday, he is worth $5.8 billion.

Halle made his fortune thanks to the tire and wheel retailer Discount Tire. He opened it in 1960.

Forbes said the company now has $4.2 billion in estimated sales with over 900 stores in 31 states.

When Forbes initially released its full findings of the richest people in the nation, Halle was worth $6.0 billion, good for No. 27 on the list. That doesn’t mean he is the 27th richest person in the U.S., however, as some states have multiple people worth more than Halle monetary wise.

Service equals Success - I keep going back to Discount because you never have to wait to talk to someone, they repair your tires, or put on new ones, or give you options so fast that it's surprising. They rotate and balance for free. They're friendly - it's always a good experience, which in today's world is rare.

A few yrs ago I was gypped by Discount Tire. They pulled the old "Oh, look here, your brake rotors are worn out too!" as they show me some random, broken rotor they picked out of a bin. I fell for it unfortunately, and ONE tire replacement ended up costing me more than 700 dollars with all of the phony add-ons they said I needed, or "it's unsafe for us to let you drive out of here!" that old scam, I fell for it.

Lojo, I think you work for them? But on the whole I do buy my tires there. Yes I have wait sometimes to talk to someone. The rest of your comment I agree with. Maybe a few more front desk people and a little acknowledgement I'm standing there would go a long way to help customer service.
