Television shows know the price of perfect production.

Often times it costs, well, a lot of money. There are few other themes across the seven most pricey television shows. According to CinemaBlend.com, the reasons for skyrocketing production costs vary.

Atop the list of the website’s seven most expensive shows of all-time is “The Crown” a Netflix original series that cost $130 million for its 10-episode first season. Much of its costs came in the form of costume.

Second on the list was another Netflix show, “The Get Down,” where securing copyright licenses to play music from the 1970s bumped the budget. The price of the show was $120 million a season.

The rest of the list ranges from $9 million per episode to $13 million per episode. It includes NBC’s well-known doctor drama, “ER,” the same network’s comedy, “Friends,” HBO’s current hit “Game of Thrones,” HBO and BBC’s “Rome,” and Netflix’s “Sense 8.”
