PHOENIX — The body of a missing Phoenix-area woman was found on a San Diego beach, police said.

The San Diego Police Department said Amanda Cruse’s body was pulled from the water along the popular Mission Beach about 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

Cruse’s body was badly decomposed and required dental examination to be identified.

Cruse, 30, has last been seen Feb. 19 in the Sunset Cliffs area about 5 a.m. Police located her car near Sunset Cliffs and found her personal items inside.

The woman’s family had feared she fell into the ocean while taking pictures from the cliffside.

She was reported missing two days later.

San Diego police Lt. Mike Holden said the circumstances surrounding Cruse’s death are still unclear but nothing suspicious has been uncovered.

“We don’t know the facts surrounding how she ended up in the water,” Holden said.

Cruse was from Scottsdale.
