How to donate for a good cause and get rid of all those shipping boxes at the same time
As more shoppers hit the URLs rather than the storefronts to buy gifts around the holiday seasons, they will have more and more cardboard boxes piling up.
As more people visit the internet rather than the local storefronts to buy gifts around the holiday season, more cardboard boxes will surely be piling up around their houses.
One service is hoping to fix that problem and give back at the same time — all for free.
Give Back Box, which has teamed with Goodwill and other online retailers like Amazon, wants people to reuse boxes to donate items they don’t need. Goodwill then uses revenue from the selling of donated items to “provide employment placement, job training and community-based services such as career counseling, education and mentoring,” the site says.
A secondary result is that the Give Back Boxes make for an environmentally-positive method of giving back by reusing the boxes.
Give Back Box makes it easy to fill any box with any weight of items donated.
So how is all this free? Users can print free shipping labels online at the organization’s website and send them via dropoff at UPS and USPS locations.
