Main Street Minute: Pair of job fairs hiring for variety of positions
Two job fairs were set for the Valley on Thursday and a Chandler nonprofit picked up $25,000 in grants to help struggling youths.

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.
• More than 20 businesses are taking part in a hiring event Thursday in the West Valley. It runs from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Avondale City Hall off Avondale Boulevard near Van Buren Street. Honor Health, Starbucks, Chase Bank, Desert Diamond casino, and Jewish Family and Children’s Service are some of the companies who will be on site to conduct interviews.
• A nonprofit in Chandler scored $25,000 in grants. ICAN: Positive Programs for Youth got the money from State Farm Neighborhood Assist. The crowd-sourced program helps young people who are facing substance abuse, gang involvement and juvenile delinquency.
• A number of employers will be on hand at a job fair Thursday at the Radisson Hotel Phoenix North. They’ll be interviewing from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. for workers in health care, education, risk management and more. The hotel is near Interstate 17 and Peoria Avenue.
