Miss Teen USA Karlie Hay shouldn't be punished for some tweets she sent when she was 14 because teenagers do stupid things.

Miss Teen USA is the latest victim of hypersensitivity and the political correctness mafia.
The 2016 teen champ is Karlie Hay from the great state Texas.
Kay’s new crown was immediately tarnished by internet trolls that began scouring her social media accounts for any dirt they could find and, as my grandfather always said, “If you look for trouble long enough, you’ll find it.”
So screenshots began to surface of Kay’s Twitter account. Three years ago — when she was 14 — she used the n-word in four separate posts. Nothing before, nothing after.
The words were not used as pejoratives. They were used in the same context as “bro,” “dude” or “sister.” No one was disparaged in any way with these tweets. There was no pattern of racism to be found.
Nevertheless, QUE THE OUTRAGE!
People started calling for her new crown to stripped immediately from her hairspray-caked head!
Reading the tweets that followed this discovery, you would think that she rolled out on stage for the swimsuit portion of the contest wearing a white bikini with matching hood!
But the Miss Universe organization is sticking by Kay. I commend them for that.
However, this is 2016, so Hailey has to kiss the PC Mafia rings by jumping from morning show to morning show for her public shaming. It was embarrassing to watch “Good Morning America’s” George Stephanopoulos give Kay a father-esque scolding on live network television Tuesday morning.
In my mind, the girl is guilty of two things: First, guilty for doing dumb things that 14-year-olds do. Second, guilty of not scrubbing her social accounts before entering the biggest pageant of her life.
Parents that have survived their kid’s teen years will back me up on this: 14-year-olds do and say a lot of stupid things. Seriously. A. Lot.
I’ll wrap up with a simple question for all of you that are outraged by these tweets and are calling for Kay to lose here: If we were to shine a nationally-televised spotlight on YOUR 14th year of life, would you want to be held accountable for every word YOU used?

While sometimes I nitpick at Mike Russell, for the most part I wholeheartedly
agree with the sentiments he has been putting forth. The are based in reason and logic instead of emotion, hype or kneejerk reactions most of the time.
First of all,. every kid has done something stupid, some more than others. I never used language to hurt someone,.. but I have done more than my share of stupid things as a teen.
Second, ok for those who want to strip her title and crucify her, ruin her life, etc,.. don't be hypocritical, lets do the same for everyone else who has used hurtful language,.. "crackerr", "rredneck", "chinkk", ""spadee", "spicc", etc all should have the same ramifications,... then how about fat, ugly, 4 eyes, etc,. they can be just as hurtful,... I am sure we would have 99% of the population disqualified from everything easily if we put the same standard out there instead of special treatment for one word, one race. (ps oh no I used those words!!! I must be labeled and killed for that!!!)
Third,.. so sick of those whining about everything being biased just because their race isn't a winner everytime. The whine about 5 very beautiful young ladies all being white as the five finalists is sickening,.. tell me which of those 5 aren't deserving first of all. Let's get back to earning things on merit, not whining like so many do now.
Fourth, when we have radical authoritarian nationalism on speech we lose one of the most basic ideas and pillars of what this country was founded upon. We lose freedom. We lose our rights
I knew you couldn't admit to those basic facts,. things that have happened often in history, and things that actually occur now (in truth humans are similar to thousands of years ago),.. words wasted on you when you cannot admit a basic fact of humans. CAN YOU ADMIT that people have lost the right to speech under threat of retaliation??? just one basic question there sheesh. I asked 3, but you avoided all of them
Yes, you have the right to persecute people over speech and actions,. you missed the entire point about how it is one way, how groups are using this, etc, etc,.. but please go on and miss more
how many are persecuted in same way over other similar words? do you believe in equality over those consequences? (or are you giving special treatment) would you feel it is ok that same word uttered has different consequences based on skin color alone? If so, I guess then you support racism based on supporting the consequences unevenly....
do you feel it is ok to shut down any one/singular group and their speech??? (slippery slope lets hear it)
do you feel it is ok to show physical violence over a few words???
do you feel it is ok to ruin someones life in multiple ways, over a word uttered, but not with intent to harm another???
why not answer a few questions,. you wanted me so much to clarify my point based on a couple of words and attack it,. so why no oblige me, as I have you, and do similar???
Again. You are not distinguishing the difference between LOSING a right and being RESPONSIBLE for exercising that right. You like to lump them in as the same (fear, intimidation, etc.), but they simply are not.
I find it humorous when people say what they want (i.e. Exercising their Freedom of Speech) and then scream that they don't have that right when they are held accountable to their words.
You have the right to say whatever you like. You do not have the right to be free from those who disagree with what you say. THAT, is their right. See how that works?
