PHOENIX — Someone in the Phoenix area became a lot richer over the weekend.

The Arizona Lottery has announced that a Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million was sold for Friday’s drawing at the QuickTrip near 67th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix.

The ticket matched all five numbers for the white balls — 11, 14, 54, 57 and 63 — but missed the Mega Ball, which was 11.

The million-dollar ticket is the 42nd such ticket sold in Arizona since 2010.

But wait: Just because you didn’t win $1 million doesn’t mean those tickets should be destined for the trash. The Arizona Lottery said 72,000 other winning tickets — ranging from $1 to $5,000 — were sold.

There was no jackpot winner in Friday’s drawing, meaning the new top prize will be in the neighborhood of $390 million, the biggest pot in the game since March 2014 and the fourth-largest jackpot total ever.

For those counting at home, that would be a one-time payout of about $265 million or annual payments of about $13 million over a 30-year period.
