PHOENIX — A Phoenix-area high school student has been arrested after a photo of him allegedly exposing himself was published in the school yearbook, according to the Mesa Police Department.

Hunter Osborn, 19, was arrested on Saturday after school officials saw him allegedly exposing himself in a group photo of the football team.

The photo was published in the yearbook and was distributed to the student body before it was noticed by the school.

In an interview with officers, Osborn said he was 18 when the photo was allegedly taken and that he was “dared” to take the photo by a teammate.

Osborn was arrested and booked on 69 counts of indecent exposure — a class one misdemeanor —  and one count of furnishing harmful items to minors — a class four felony.

A #FreeHunter petition has been started, asking for the yearbook editor and the teacher who heads the yearbook class to be held responsible.

“He didn’t put the picture in the yearbook, he didn’t create the page, he wasn’t the editor that approved it, or the teacher responsible for publishing it and distributing it to students,” the petition read. “The teacher responsible for the yearbook should be fired.”

At the time of publication, the petition had 30 of the 100 signatures needed in order for it to be delivered to Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey’s office, high school officials and the Mesa Police Department.
