PHOENIX — An American Airlines plane was forced to land in Phoenix after a bird slammed against the cockpit window and cracked it.
The flight left from Las Vegas’ McCarran International and was headed for Charlotte, North Carolina.
Airline spokesman Matt Miller said there were no injuries. The crew of six and 174 passengers boarded another plane at Sky Harbor early Thursday morning to resume their flight to Charlotte.
Miller said the airplane with the cracked window would be repaired in Phoenix.
Phoenix is a hub for the airline since merging with defunct US Airways in 2013.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
