Main Street Minute: Scottsdale Boys and Girls Club celebrates renovated center

• Safeway is celebrating the grand opening of its newly remodeled store near Seventh Street and Thunderbird Road on Wednesday. The ribbon cutting was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and will feature food samples and live music.

• The Phoenix Suns and Southwest Airlines have teamed up to renovate a local after-school club. A ribbon cutting was scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale to unveil the revamped learning center. Former Suns great Tom Chambers and the Gorilla will be on hand.
