It’s been almost a year since the pizza place tweeted that it was heading for Phoenix.
“It is a historic day for the Lou Malnati’s organization,” owner Marc Malnati said in a release.
“We are thrilled with the reception we’ve received for bringing our authentic Chicago-style deep dish pizza to Arizona. The team in Phoenix and our entire organization is committed to bringing the same level of quality, atmosphere and hospitality that we are known for in Chicago.”
And pizza lovers in the Valley will be committed to eating lots of the deep-dish pies.
Phoenix was a top destination for Lou Malnati’s mail-order division.
“We send thousands of pizzas to the Scottsdale-Phoenix area every year,” Malnati said last fall.
If all goes well, Lou Malnati’s said it would consider opening up to 10 more sites in the Valley.
For the time being, the restaurant’s hours were set for Sunday-Thursday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday-Saturday from 4 p.m. to midnight.
Lunch hours will go into effect starting June 1. They’ll be feeding the masses Sunday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight.
