Movies in a Minute: ‘Sicario’

For some of us Arizonans, “Sicario” is a movie that will hit really close to home.
The film, a thriller based on the war between Mexican drug cartels and law enforcement on both sides of the border, is set in a few different Arizona cities, including a Phoenix suburb. It’s probably worth noting that “sicario” is a term used for a hired gunman or assassin.
“Sicario” stars Emily Blunt as a up-and-coming FBI agent who joins a mysterious anti-drug task force led by Alejandro, played by Benicio del Toro. The task force basically tries to use one cartel boss to flush out a larger one to restore balance in the drug world.
I’m not going to mess around: This is a really, really good movie. Del Toro steals every scene he’s in. The fact that we read headlines about stories like this makes it seem all the more real.
