Movies in a Minute: ‘Miss Sloane’

“Miss Sloane” is a good movie, but given the recent election of Donald Trump, I feel like the filmmakers are going to want to go back and remake the film.
I have to say, it felt a little intrusive to watch this film so close to November’s general election.
The film is basically about Elizabeth Sloane — greatly portrayed by Jessica Chastain — a high-powered Washington, D.C. lobbyist and her fight against the nation’s gun lobby that may come at too high of a cost.
I think Chastain did a great job in this film. A female lead in this type of movie is not often seen in Hollywood, but she’s really coming into her own as an actress and she did a great job polling this role off.
The movie has kind of a cynical feel and there are plenty of twists and turns, but I still liked it.
