CLEVELAND — As we move further into the depths of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, the GOP is starting to roll out some heavy hitters when it comes to speakers.
Monday’s opening night started with several celebrities, but really culminated with the surprise appearance of presumed candidate Donald Trump to introduce his wife, Melania.
Of course, her speech was the talk of the town Tuesday, what with allegations that she plagiarized at least two paragraphs from an address given by Michelle Obama in 2008.
But over the next three days, the party is pulling out all the stops when it comes to speakers. Some of the nation’s most recognizable leaders — along with several stars — will take to the stage to amp up delegates.
While we cannot say exactly when the speakers will take the podium, there are several highly prominent figures on the schedule that, should Trump win the nomination and presidency, could be selected to be part of his cabinet or named to other prestigious titles.
KTAR News 92.3 will carry some of the speeches. You can listen on-air or stream online. Our coverage begins at 6 p.m. Arizona time, which is 9 p.m. in Cleveland and about the time when the most prominent figures will be speaking.
