(WORKING)Going strong: Happy 60th birthday, Disneyland!

Pass the party hats and grab Mickey and Minnie — the Happiest Place on Earth is turning 60.

Disneyland opened in a special preview July 17, 1955 to invited guests. The next day, the general public lined up in droves to see Walt Disney’s Southern California creation.

They’ve been lining up ever since.

The park started with five “lands,” 18 attractions and dollar ticket prices.

Yes, scraping together loose change could get you into the Anaheim funland. But rides were extra. Now it costs nearly $100 for anyone older than nine to spend the day there. That includes ride, though, so yay!
