Workers prepare the Santa Fe Opera for its first shows of the pandemic on Friday, June 18, 2021, outside Santa Fe, N.M. The Santa Fe Opera ran its first show since the pandemic began, in a venue uniquely suited for virus safety: the performance space is outdoors, albeit covered by a roof. Staff concerns over safety, international visa snags for performers and masked rehearsals have been a barrier but the show, Le nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), went on.
