Ohio State sex abuse survivors plan appeals, defend motives

FILE-In a Tuesday, June 4, 2019 file photo, Roger Beedon discusses how sexual misconduct by now-deceased Ohio State team doctor Richard Strauss has affected his life, during a news conference with fellow Strauss accusers, from left, Brian Garrett, Dan Ritchie and Mike Flusche, and state Rep. Brett Hillyer, at the Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio. Beedon is among the men planning to appeal the dismissal of lawsuits they filed against Ohio State University over sexual abuse by the late team doctor Richard Strauss. Beedon says critics who question the plaintiffs' motives or think they're just after money don't understand what the survivors have been through and how it impacted their lives. FILE-This Tuesday, July 17, 2018 file photo shows former Ohio State University student Steve Snyder-Hill discussing a complaint he submitted decades ago about the behavior of Dr. Richard Strauss, during an interview at home in Columbus, Ohio. Snyder-Hill is among the men planning to appeal the dismissal of lawsuits they filed against Ohio State over decades-old sexual abuse by the late team doctor Richard Strauss. Snyder-Hill says it's not about money but about holding the university accountable for what happened back then and how it has responded to their claims raised in recent years.
