A former Arizona State University soccer player has won a gold medal with the United States Women’s National Team in the London Games.

Amy LePeilbet, 30, won gold when the U.S. defeated Japan 2-1.

LePeilbet attended ASU from 2000 to 2004, where she majored in sociology and graduated with honors.

While at ASU, the defender was named to several all-region and all-conference teams, including being named a second-team All-American athlete in 2002 and 2003.
