Main Street Minute: Pizza chain joins downtown Tempe lineup

• The newest spot in the NYPD Pizza chain fires up the ovens Monday in Tempe. The chain’s 12th Valley location opens on Mill Avenue at Third Street. To celebrate, the pizza place will provide free street parking near the restaurant.
• Surprise police have the help wanted sign hanging up. They are looking for a police commander and a public safety communications officer. People looking to apply can visit the city of Surprise website.
• Apartments in Flagstaff are about to go upscale. Two Kansas City-based developers are building a luxury apartment community with mountain views and ground level space for coffee shops and businesses. The Village at Aspen Place will have more than 200 apartments and a five-level parking structure.
