KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, businesses that are opening and events across the community. Each weekday these stories air on KTAR at 7:27 a.m. More information can be found below.

• The Tempe Improv has teamed with St. Mary’s Food Bank for the “Hunger is no Joke!” series. Thursday’s show at the comedy club features “Last Comic Standing” winner Jon Reep and is free with a five-can donation. The show starts at 8 p.m. and has a two-drink minimum. There will be two more Thursday night shows with the same offer to help the food bank, July 31 and Aug. 7.

• A popular burger joint is expanding. Smashburger will open its 14th location in Gilbert.

• Goodwill is hiring for several locations. Postings are for customer service representatives, production managers and store managers.
