PHOENIX — A man who publicly argued with Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery last month is urging the Arizona Board of Regents to further studies on medical marijuana.
“I just want to say them ‘Shame on you that you can’t be doing some type of research with this marijuana,'” Don Ream said. “The education needs to be done.”
Ream said he uses marijuana to alleviate back pain, but argues the drug has numerous health benefits.
“I don’t believe it (marijuana) is going away,” he said. “It’s helping elderly people in Sun City where I live.”
Ream expressed his feelings to the Board of Regents on Thursday, the same meeting in which Gov. Doug Ducey asked the oversight board for a new strategic plan that cuts administrative expenses and makes college more affordable.
