PHOENIX — Federal authorities arrested a Mesa woman and two others and seized nearly $140,000 in drugs in one day during vehicle stops at the Arizona-Mexico border.
Customs and Border Protection took Raquel Valenica River, 35, into custody Wednesday after a detection dog sniffed out $68,000 worth of methamphetamine in the East Valley woman’s sedan.
In the other busts Wednesday, officers found heroin, estimated value $40,000, in the purse of a 45-year-old woman from Somerton, Arizona, and 63 pounds of marijuana in the tires of a truck.
All the arrests were made at the Port of San Luis.
