Yuma police officers respond to report of suicidal subject with gun

Officers of the City of Yuma Police Department responded to reports of a suicidal subject with a gun and at least one shot fired in the 400 block of South 23rd Avenue.

The officers reportedly attempted to make contact with the man and got no response. The Special Enforcement Team, including the Hostage Negotiations Unit and tactical team set up and the area was blocked off.

At around 1:46 p.m. the team gained entry and found an adult male deceased.

This case remains under investigation.
