Increase in jobs sets Arizona workforce record

According to the latest date from the Arizona Department of Administration, Arizona has more people in the workforce than ever before for the first time since October 2007.
Between October 2007 and September 2010, Arizona lost 313,500 jobs.
Since 2010, the state has consistently added more and more jobs, culminating with a record of 2.7 million current people in the workforce. Arizona added 25,300 jobs in February, which pushed the workforce to record numbers, breaking the previous record of 2.69 million back in 2007.
Education and health services (19,600 added jobs), professional and business services (16,800) and trade, transportation and utilities (12,200) saw the most expansions in their respective fields.
Arizona’s unemployment rate has dropped from 6.3 percent last year to 5.5 percent this year, and jobs continue to flourish in the desert.
