PHOENIX — Spring break is around the corner for a majority of Valley children.
With the week off from school, many Arizona families opt to sneak in a vacation before the latter portion of the school year sets in and the mercury begins to creep up.
Once they decide to get out of town, the tough question looms: Where do we go? Sure, there’s always skiing in the high country — which is expected to get a lot of snow this weekend — or staying in town to catch a spring training game. But what if they want to head beyond Arizona’s borders?
We asked FareCompare CEO Rick Seaney to give his suggestions. Though he said it’s a little late in the game to be booking spring break travel, some deals can still be had, especially trips that leave Tuesdays and return Saturdays.
For those thinking they can do Mexico on the cheap, think again.
“If you’re going to any Mexico beach, you’re going to be lucky to find anything under $400,” Seaney said.
