RadioShack to close 17 Arizona stores

PHOENIX — With the growth of a new digital era comes the death of some old favorites.
RadioShack, an electronics retail franchise, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Thursday, Phoenix Business Journal reported.
In lieu of the bankruptcy, the franchise will be forced to shut down a chunk of its 4,000 stores nationwide, including 17 across the Valley.
The locations, 11 of which are within the greater Phoenix area, include:

- • 93 W. Fifth St., Douglas
- • 1037 N. Arizona Ave., Chandler
- • 239 W. McDowell Road, Phoenix
- • 10250 N. 91st Ave., Peoria
- • 615 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix
- • 10565 N. Oracle Road, Oro Valley
- • 929 N. Dobson Road, Mesa
- • 3165 S. Alma School Road, Chandler
- • 8907 N. 7th St., Phoenix
- • 7800 N. 55th Ave., Glendale
- • 5000 S. Arizona Mills Circle, Tempe
- • 7056 E. Golf Links Road, Tucson
- • 4319 W. Bell Road, Glendale
- • 3927 E. Grant Road, Tucson
- • 9085 E. Tanque Verde Road, Tucson
- • 4650 N. US Highway 89, Flagstaff
The remaining RadioShack stores will be transformed into Sprint Wireless showrooms.
