PHOENIX — Former President Bill Clinton will be in Phoenix on Sunday, campaigning for his wife, Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton.

The former president will speak to crowds in Phoenix and Tucson ahead of Tuesday’s primary.

Clinton will speak at the Central High School gymnasium at 5:30 p.m. with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. Members of the public interested in attending the event at 4525 N. Central Ave. can visit the event website to RSVP.

Before he visits Phoenix, Clinton will hold an event at the Sunnyside High School, 1725 E Bilby Rd, in Tucson at 2:30 p.m. He will be joined by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, her husband, Captain Mark Kelly, and former Congressman Ron Barber.

Hillary Clinton will visit metro Phoenix on Monday, the day before Arizona’s presidential preference election.

She will meet with the public at Carl Hayden Community High School at 3:30 p.m. The school is at 33rd Avenue and Roosevelt Street.

“I will look forward to seeing as many Arizonans as I can,” she said in an interview with KTAR News.

Bill Clinton has often turned up on the campaign trail for his wife.

He was in Chicago this week, chatting with voters at a polling place on primary Tuesday and the day before he was in Florida.

Hillary Clinton swept four states’ primaries this week — Florida, Illinois, North Carolina and Ohio.

The Clintons have had good times in Arizona.

In 1992, the former president became the first Democrat to carry the heavily-Republican Arizona since 1948. Hillary Clinton won the state in her previous presidential run in 2008.

Presidential hopefuls from both parties have been hitting the Grand Canyon State hard this week.

Republican Ted Cruz had two days of campaigning the area scheduled, starting Thursday.

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry made three appearances across the Valley on Cruz’s behalf.

Clinton rival Bernie Sanders went to Flagstaff on Thursday evening.

He also held an energetic rally in downtown Phoenix on Tuesday.

We want to hear from you.
