PHOENIX — If you’re looking to visit some of our neighbors to the north, Wednesday was a good day for you.
Air Canada Rouge announced it would begin seasonal nonstop flights between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Vancouver.
Approximately one million Canadians come to Arizona every year and this airport is absolutely one of the best gateways,” Glenn Williamson with the Canada-Arizona Business Council said.
Williamson said he hopes the new route funnels more Arizonans north of the border.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have enough Arizonans going to Canada and we need to get more of them going up,” he said.
The airline said flights began Wednesday and are offered daily through April 30.
Air Canada Rouge, a budget subsidiary of Air Canada, began service in July 2013.
