PHOENIX — Phoenix Children’s Hospital has announced the addition of a state-of-the-art, and one of the most technologically advanced, mobile health units in the country.
“I have a fantastic team. They do such great things out there,” said Dr. Randal Christensen, MD, Medical Director of the Crews’n Healthmobile. “We started 15 years ago and there were just two of us, now there are over 30 on my team.”
The original Mobile Medical Unit started in 2000, with Children’s Health Fund and Home Base Youth Services. Over the course of nearly two decades, the program has expanded to now include three mobile medical units and host over a dozen weekly clinics. The addition of the latest unit will provide 25 percent more patient care visits.
The highly-qualified and dedicated medical staff targets at-risk and homeless children and teens.
