PHOENIX — Several people reported minor cuts and scrapes Wednesday after two school buses collided in Gilbert.
“They actually had a full-size, normal-looking yellow school bus that crashed into a smaller Tutor Time bus,” Deputy Gilbert Fire Chief Mike Connor said.
Connor said the crash happened just before 2 p.m. at the intersection of Guadalupe and Recker roads. The yellow bus had about 40 high school students on board and the smaller bus only had the driver inside.
“The fire and police departments are working to try to get some parents on-scene to get some kids transported home,” Connor said.
The crash restricted eastbound and westbound Guadalupe and northbound Recker to one lane. Minor delays are expected.
