Donald Trump’s rambling response to Mitt Romney isn’t so presidential

We witnessed some good old fashioned billionaire on billionaire action on Thursday.
Mitt Romney, yes, the same Mitt Romney that had his backside handed to him by a vulnerable Barack Obama in the 2012 election, decided to hold a press conference in Utah.
Why in the world is Romney holding press conferences? Is he throwing his hat in the ring for the Republican nomination? Nope. He just wanted to do his part for the RNC to help ensure that Donald Trump does not become the 2016 Republican nominee.
Mitt, looking every bit presidential, took to the podium and came out swinging. He called Trump a fraud and challenged his claims of success as a self-made man.
Make no mistake, this was historic. This was the first time in recorded history that a former nominee begged the voters to treat the current nomination front runner like the plague!
For many of us, this brought a few things into clarity.
First, how in the world did this man who addressed the nation today not win the White House? We saw a leader lead today. This was a lecture from a father to his children. It wasn’t angry, it was educational.
Next, it exposed just how desperate the Republican party is to stop Trump. Is Trump as unhinged as the party paints him to be? Well, that brings me to the last clarifying point.
Trump responded to Romney’s attack in rambling, bumbling, self-promoting fashion. He rambled on about certain successes, NBC begging him for more of The Apprentice, Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and Chinese forts.
The bottom line is that Trump blew an opportunity to respond in kind to Mitt Romney. He passed on the opportunity to look presidential — and he didn’t care.
Am I the only one that thinks that Trump launched another publicity stunt of a campaign, gained traction, started winning and is wondering how outlandish he can be so someone lets him off of this wild ride that he never intended to see through?
Come on. I can’t be the only one. Right?
