Off-duty Chandler police officer killed in crash

PHOENIX — A Chandler police officer was killed Tuesday afternoon while driving to work, the city said.
Officer Bryant Holmes was involved in a crash at Recker and Baseline roads. An initial investigation showed Holmes was on a motorcycle heading north on Recker when an SUV on westbound Baseline ran a red light and hit him.
Holmes, a five-year veteran, is survived by his wife and four children.
Police said funeral details will be released at a later time.
