Border Patrol: Shooting in Tucson leaves 1 dead

PHOENIX — A Customs and Border Protection spokesman said Friday that a suspect was shot and killed in Tucson on Friday morning but declined specifics other than an border agent was involved.
The Arizona Daily Star reported the shooting happened around 10:45 a.m.
Customs and Border Protection spokesman Victor Brabble confirmed that there was
a shooting Friday. However, he declined to immediately provide specifics on the circumstances
of the shooting.
In a later statement, Brabble said multiple weapons were recovered at the scene 10 miles southwest of the scene and the incident was being investigated.
Also, no information is immediately available on the dead person, including
gender and age.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is responding to the shooting, which
occurred on the city’s southwest side.
A sheriff’s spokesman, Deputy Tracy Suitt, said he did not immediately
have any information on the shooting.
