Giffords has spent most of the past year advocating for stricter gun control. She was shot in the head meeting constituents at a Tucson grocery store in January 2011. Six people were killed in the attack.
She and husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly, have testified before the Senate on gun violence and lead Americans for Responsible Solutions, an advocacy group.
The tour will stop in New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania,
Arizona, Minnesota, Iowa, Oregon and Washington state.
