PHOENIX — Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey got the opportunity to tout the state’s accomplishments last week, sparking other state’s governors to pay an increased amount of attention to Arizona’s economic growth.
Ducey, who joined other governors at the Republican Governors Association and National Governors Association, said leaders around the nation are noticing that Arizona is becoming an increasingly competitive state.
“There is no doubt people have their eye on Arizona,” he said. “We are doing things like putting money into K-12 education without raising taxes with (Proposition 123), we are having pension reform that is going to be going to the ballot.”
Ducey said he enjoyed the opportunity to learn from other governors and simultaneously build relationships that could benefit Arizona.
“Whenever I see a state that is growing quickly or improving their education or tax policy, I like to see the Legislative agenda that they had and how they moved that forward,” he said.
This was the second year that Ducey attended the various conferences.
“Last year, I was here learning a lot, this year I’m still learning a lot but I am also sharing some of the good things we are doing in the state of Arizona with other governors,” he said.
