PHOENIX — Arizona congressional challenger Andy Tobin has been tapped to deliver this week’s
Republican Party’s weekly national address.
U.S. House Speaker John Boehner made the announcement Thursday.

Tobin is the first House challenger to deliver the
party’s address this year, political website The Hill wrote.
In a statement at TeamBoehner.com, the congressman from Ohio said of Tobin, Arizona’s Speaker:
“Andy Tobin is a proven conservative leader who knows what it takes to create jobs and get America back on track. Andy can win his race because he’s listening to Arizonans and fighting for their priorities, and I’m glad he’ll be delivering this week’s address.”
The Republican address usually alternates between members of the U.S. House and
Senate but as the election nears, the GOP has tapped some congressional
candidates in recent weeks, giving them national exposure.
Tobin captured his party’s hard-fought primary race in the 1st Congressional District. The race was not officially called until Sept. 2, a week after elections. His nearly 36 percent of the vote topped rancher Gary Kiehne’s 35 percent.
