Robbery-related lockdown lifted at Mesa junior high school

PHOENIX — A Mesa, Ariz. junior high school was placed on lockdown for a brief time Wednesday.
Mesa Detective Esteban Flores said Kino Junior High School, near Horne and Brown Road, was placed on a precautionary lockdown after a robbery occurred about one block away.
It is not believed the suspect entered school grounds. The suspect has not been apprehended despite an extensive search and is believed to have left the area.
More details about the robbery were unavailable.
