Coeur d’Alene announces Mesa officer as new police chief

PHOENIX — The city of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho announced on Thursday their choice for new chief of police.
Lee White, current assistant police chief for the Mesa Police Department, will begin his new position on Sept. 2.
White was chosen among 75 candidates from across the country, and received the official offer on Aug. 5.
During his police career, White has worked in or supervised nearly every area of police work, making his way through the ranks of the Mesa Police Department from patrol officer to assistant chief.
He currently handles the $162 million budget, the Investigations Division, and has completed 21 years of experience in the field.
