Report: Fortune 1000 construction company headquarters to relocate to Phoenix

PHOENIX — The headquarters of a Fortune 1000 company is reportedly relocating to Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
The South Carolina-based Carlisle Cos. Inc. will be moving more than 120 positions into Kierland One, a business center in Phoenix. According to the article, C-level, executive and management positions will be located in the building.

Carlisle, a global manufacturing company of construction material, has an estimated worth of $5.5 billion, according to BMO Capital Market analysts. The company also has five divisions located in the U.S.
The company has global operations in Mexico, the Netherlands, Germany and China and brings in “significant revenue” from global trade.
Chris Mackay, director of community and economic development for the city of Phoenix, said the move is a “big deal” for the Valley.
“Landing a full headquarters is a big deal for Phoenix and Arizona,” he said in an interview with the Phoenix Business Journal. “This company made the move for strategic reasons, but they have stated an interest in being a good corporate citizen and becoming active in the community.”
Greater Phoenix Economic Council President and CEO Chris Camacho said the market is favorable for Carlisle because of the state’s proximity to Mexico and the number of available workers.
“When a headquarters moves in, it becomes involved in the community, its executives get on boards, donate and help nonprofits and education,” he said in an interview with the Phoenix Business Journal. “It’s a benefit to Phoenix that’s important to the community.”
In a statement, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey said the company’s decision to relocate to Arizona “speaks volumes about (Arizona’s) pro-business environment, skilled workforce and quality of life.”
