PHOENIX — A gaming convention in the Valley is back for its second year thanks to the help of local supporters.
MaricopaCon will be taking place this weekend at the Mesa Convention Center.
The gamer’s extravaganza sold 250 tickets through the online fundraising site Kickstarter, and gathered 11 vendors for the convention.
Last year, MaricopaCon successfully used Kickstarter for the first time to build and rally 176 people for their yearly event and gathered four vendors.
MaricopaCon started in 2010 as a yearly local reunion in a house. Those who attend get to play old-school games, board games, card games, tabletop war games and much more.
Attendees will also be able to participate in a Cosplay Contest.
