Authorities ID body found near Phoenix peak

PHOENIX — Authorities have identified a body found on Piestewa Peak in
north-central Phoenix as that of a hiker who was reported missing
Monday morning.
Jack Peyton, 79, told a friend he was going hiking on Monday. His friend attempted to contact Peyton on Tuesday, but did not receive a reply and contacted police.
Peyton’s body was found in a ravine on the peak after an apparent fall.
Phoenix Fire Department rescue crews say the body was found late Tuesday
morning.
