PHOENIX — A Phoenix high school teacher has been arrested for allegedly stalking a 15-year-old student, James Holmes with the Phoenix Police Department said.
Michael Sporrer, 36, was arrested Saturday on stalking and aggravated assault charges against a 15-year-old female student, Holmes said.
Holmes said Sporrer sent “numerous inappropriate text messages” to the girl, who was also his student.
The student told police Sporrer was constantly sending her text messages over a period of time in order to “follow her every move” and express his love toward her.
The student also told police Sporrer had touched her in a way that made her uncomfortable, but said it was not in an “obvious sexual manner.”
Police are not disclosing the name of the victim or the school which she attends, but the Paradise Valley school district issued a statement Monday.
The statement said no other students were involved and that the high school and district were cooperating with the investigation.
