3 seriously injured in car wreck at 51st Avenue and Elliot Road

PHOENIX — An armored truck and an SUV collided in a southwest Valley intersection Tuesday morning, trapping three people inside the wreckage.
A 65-year-old and two teenagers were
taken to hospitals for treatment of critical or serious injuries, a fire department spokesman said.
The accident, near 51st Avenue and Elliot Road in Laveen, shut down the streets.

Police Sgt. Trent Crump says the accident occurred Monday when the armored car
crossed the center line after the driver swerved to avoid stopped vehicles.
