Arizona ranked among bottom half of states dependent on the gun industry

PHOENIX — Arizona ranked among the bottom half of states that are dependent on the gun industry, according to a study from WalletHub.com.
Despite being thought of as a gun-dependent state, Arizona ranked among the bottom half of states at No. 32 with a dependence on the industry.
Approximately 32 percent of state residents own a firearm, making Arizona No. 25 in the nation for gun ownership. Per every 1,000 residents, the study found there are 50.5 gun sales. The state ranked No. 40 in the nation in that category.
The study also found the state has approximately 10 firearm industry jobs per every 10,000 residents, ranking Arizona at No. 20 in the nation for that category.
Arizona also ranked No. 17 in the average annual income for workers in the firearm industry, with the average worker earning $50,437 annually.
In terms of gun control contribution, Arizona ranked No. 1 in the nation for making zero gun control contributions to Congress, per every 100,000 residents.
Arizona also ranked No. 19 in the nation, with $143 in total firearms output per capita, ranked No. 28 with $2.75 in total taxes paid by the firearms industry per capita and No. 27 with $4,037 with gun rights contributions to Congress per 100,000 residents.
