Crash partially closes Interstate 8 near Arizona-California border

PHOENIX — A freeway has been partially reopened after a crash involving a tractor-trailer near the Arizona-California border on Thursday, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

The vehicle caught fire on Interstate 8 near Yuma after crashing. Details on possible injuries were not immediately available.

The freeway had been closed at milepost 35, which is about 25 miles east of Yuma and 35 miles east of the border.

The eastbound lanes were reopened about 10 a.m. One westbound lane was reopened about 2 p.m.
