Tempe travel firm ordered to pay Groupon $1 million

PHOENIX – Tempe travel firm World Resorts International has been ordered by a Phoenix judge to pay Groupon, Inc. $1.16 million.
According to the Phoenix Business Journal, the ruling by Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Dean Fink confirmed the amount Groupon would receive from Tempe-based World Resorts International LLC.
The dispute between companies resulted from promotions that ran on the online coupon site Groupon.
World Resorts International offers discounts to its members on hotel, cruise and airfare. They began doing business with Groupon in 2011.
Neither company has commented about the case.
