First-ever Arizona Native American Youth Summit to be held in April

PHOENIX — The first-ever Arizona Native American Youth Summit was announced this week.
“The focus of the summit itself really is about mobilizing our own youth to take the lead in issues they see as not only important to their own communities, but important to the future,” said Arizona Senator Carlyle Begay.
The summit is expected to be held on Apr. 30 at Grand Canyon University and will target junior high and high school students.
“Get the youth to be engaged not only in issues they care about, but also for the summit to organized by the youth themselves,” Begay said.
The summit will be hosted by the Morning Star Leadership Youth Council in conjunction with the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family’s Annual Youth Leadership Day.
